iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review

Unlike some robot vacuums, this one isn't afraid of taking on the stairs. But, just like any other mop or vacuum it could get blocked by loose tennis shoes, Quietest ribbons or yarn, play jewelry or other objects that are loose.

The iRobot Home App allows you to label rooms, and also create zones of no-go areas. It also lets you monitor the progress of your mops as well as the status of its battery.

iRobot Combo j7+

The arm is equipped with a 240mL tank which can be easily removed and refilled. This makes it more convenient to use as opposed to the mop pads that are found on many other 2-in-1 robotic arms. It uses iRobot PrevisionVision technology to avoid obstacles, which is more advanced than other systems similar to it.

iRobot Combo i5

This multi-tasker is designed to vacuum and mop with one machine. The mopping is accomplished by using a special bin that can accommodate up to 60 days worth of dust. According to iRobot, this reduces the amount of dust released into the air. The i5+ also has dual multi-surface rubber brush heads and Power-Lifting Suction to take care of dirt, dust, pet hair and stains on hard floors. When you're ready to mop, quietest simply swap in the Mopping Bin and a compatible cleaning solution.

The i5+ uses iRobot OS, which means it gets smarter as you use it. It learns your floorplan, creating an Smart Map that remembers room names and your personal cleaning preferences. You can then direct it to clean a room or set a timer for a whole level of your home through the iRobot app.

iRobot can recognize household clutter such as shoes, bags cords, toys, and even cords. It will then automatically stop and return to its base to dock for a recharge and complete the cleaning task at a later date. It is compatible with voice commands like Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri, and understands around 600 voice commands. This is more than any other 2-in-1 robot.

iRobot Combo j5

This robot vacuum and mop from iRobot is a good choice for homes with carpets and hard floors. It makes use of smart mapping to eliminate obstacles and efficiently clean. It offers multiple mopping options including the SmartScrub system for removing difficult stains. It also allows you to establish No Mop Zones so carpets don't get swept up. The dock refills the mopping fluid in a timely manner. The model is more expensive than the earlier Roomba Combo J7+ but comes with more features.

iRobot Combo i3

The iRobot Combo i3 has been upgraded from the original Roomba i3. It has a HEPA filter to eliminate allergens and has the same excellent external dust compartment, but it now supports smart mapping. This means that you can designate no-go zones to prevent it from sweeping those areas again. The i3 Plus still has a number of other great features like its advanced cleaning system that has a 10x power-lifting suction and three-stage cleaning process. It comes with a textured finish to keep pet hair, dust and fingerprints from getting on.

It cleans most debris and performs well on carpets that are not bare, but it did have problems with pet hair when used on low-pile carpets. It is quieter and does a great job on carpets with a high pile. The i3 is a bit more expensive than the Roborock S4 Max, but it comes with a self cleaning robot vacuum-emptying mechanism that cleans the mop pads and replenishes the reservoir of water.

With the i3 app, you can create schedules for cleaning at a time that suits your requirements. You can also use your voice assistant to control your robot and begin or stop the cleaning. It also tracks your home's unique floor layout to offer personalized scheduling and cleaning habits.
