The Best Self-Charging Robot Vacuum: Ideal for Hard Floors Vacuum and Mop Combo

A robot vacuum/mop combo is the best solution for pets who shed fur. This machine can mop and vacuum and even clean and dry its own dual mop pads.

It also has the most suction power of any robot we have tested, at 8,800Pa. It also allows you to set up cleaning schedules and save maps of your house through its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is dry and wet. It is equipped with the latest AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which offers improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. The system is equipped with dual laser LiDAR, which is similar to the one used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan a space that is up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This means more precise mapping as well as faster response time and greater cleaning accuracy.

It also features an adjustable mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it easier to scrub tough areas more effectively as opposed to traditional mop. In my testing the X2 Omni took just over an hour to wash its pad and begin work, and I noticed that it was more precise than previous models that seemed to follow a grid path around rooms. It was able to navigate around corners and edges of my rooms, and also make "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station regularly to empty the dustbin, and wash the mop with hot water prior to beginning another task of cleaning.

The X2 Omni is just as simple to use and set up as the other Ecovacs products. It takes just a few minutes to secure the dock into its place, plug it into and connect it to your home Wi-Fi network. You can then open the app to start your first cleaning project. I was able to customize my floor plan in less than 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for sweeping and mopping as well as rearranging the positioning of furniture that is mounted on walls, and more. The X2 Omni performed admirably during my tests. It scored highly in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal, and also was near-perfect in its results for crevices and edge cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The EcoVACS T10 Omni is a powerful mopping and vacuum machine. It is the most advanced model of the brand's T-line and features the brand's new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that utilizes dual-spinning brushes to provide better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It comes with YIKO, a natural language processing technology that is a first of its kind. This allows it to respond to a variety of voice commands. You can use the ECOVACS app to map your home, create cleaning schedules and adjust settings.

The biggest issue with the T10 Omni is that it cannot switch between mopping and vacuuming in one run. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach mop heads to and from the vacuum according to your needs. This is fine for the majority of households, but not so for those with busy lives.

The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that produces impressive results. It vacuumed up more than 96% of the debris we threw at it on our hardwood flooring, which is an outstanding performance. It also did a fantastic job with tile and carpet, removing over 90% of dirt and dust.

This robotic vacuum and robot vacuum mops mop has large docking stations which offers cool water cleaning for the mop pads, and auto-emptying into a 3L disposable bag that is easy to replace, and hot-air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a large water tank that allows more frequent rinses and dries between mopping runs.

Deebot T10 has a wash tray that is built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to wash and dry the mop pads when it is using them. It does not have a tray that can be removed, which means that dust, dirt and other grime can slowly build up on the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

This is the first mopping model made by Anker which is well-known for its robot vacuums. It offers improved smarts, multiple map support, and LIDAR scanning, in addition to twin-turbine suction technology that automatically adjusts to the floor you're cleaning. It's a great mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner although it can't exactly live up to its promise to be a one-stop shop for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a standard robotic vacuum cleaner from the top, with its circular shape with sweeping wheels and a raised area for sensors. Flip it over, however you'll see a motorised floor brush plus one side sweeper brush that pushes dirt from the edges of the machine into the main path of the robot's 'mouth'. It's a little smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to access under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system allows you to create no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. However, it has a tendency to hit things (including its charging dock) and isn't always adept at climbing over carpets. It was effective in picking up pet hair from carpets. In our tests it picked up 89.5% kitty litter.

While it's controllable via the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base, which allow you to choose the cleaning mode and turn the robot on/off. These buttons can be used to establish areas that aren't allowed to enter and view real-time maps. It's also a bit chatty, and will tell what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or alert you if something is wrong.

4. ILIFE A4s

This high-tech model sucks up pet hair, kibble and other messes with remarkable efficiency and maneuvers flawlessly around furniture legs. It also comes with a remarkable feature set that includes two cleaning modes as well as a self-emptying dock and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. It's Wi-Fi-connected and best controlled via the Neato app which allows cleaning to be scheduled and the overall maintenance requirements are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent option for homes with a large a mix of hard carpet and flooring, however it requires some advance planning to avoid getting stuck on toys, power cords or other unexpected obstacles.

This robot did well in our tests on hardwood floors and kibble. It was able to pick up everything, from one rice grain to multiple dog food pieces, with only one sweep. It had a bit of difficulties transitioning to rugs however, in general, this vacuum cleaner is great for rooms that have both types of flooring and a mix of pets.

It's a bit expensive however, if you are able to afford it, it's an excellent buy for those who wish to leave their home completely free to perform other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro also offers a convenient auto cleaning mode that boosts suction power to tackle difficult spills and dirt, and is equipped with an electric ElectroWall which allows you to place boundaries where the robot isn't allowed to enter.

This budget-friendly choice from a popular upstart brand is the cheapest robot we've tested to date and offers an exceptional value for the money. Its basic navigation system is based on a very basic random pathing algorithm, and it's not able to map rooms. This makes it less efficient as other models on this list. It's still able to get under furniture and into the corners. Mopping mode performed well in our tests by picking up hairs and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it does better overall at getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less efficiently and does a decent job on low-pile carpet and utilizes smart-pathing navigational technology to provide better maneuverability. It can be sent to a specific location, and includes a variety of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you pause and resume the cleaning process and is perfect for homes with pets.

The self-cleaning brushroll eliminates knots and holds up to 30 days of dirt. It also comes with an array of angled side brushes that dig deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system can capture dust, dander, and allergens for a cleaner air.

The robot vacuum is built well and feels solid. It works with an app for smartphones which lets you alter the vacuum's settings and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app allows you to check the remaining battery life of the iQ, and send push notifications if it encounters any problems during a cleaning session. You can control it with your voice using an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices, you can mark areas with physical boundary markers strips.

The iQ does a decent job of removing bare floors and doing a fair job on shaggy and low-pile carpet however, it doesn't have the same degree of autonomy as our top selections. It is also expensive and the cost of recurring use can add up.
