The Eco mode operates the vacuum more quietly and extends the time of use, while the Turbo mode offers more efficient cleaning. However, the Turbo mode operates at a loud, unfriendly volume which can be frustrating if you're running the D7 while you're working or watching TV.

The D7 is one of the few robots capable of creating and keeping multiple floor plans. This is perfect for multi-level homes. 2. Eufy RoboVac ElevenS

The Eufy 11S, like the Neato D7 is sleek and low-profile. This allows it to get under beds, couches, and coffee tables easier than other robot vacuums. It also comes with several innovations that allow it to keep its clean and exactly where you want it to go, like no-go lines you can draw on its virtual maps to keep the robot from cleaning delicate areas like pet bowls or beds. It also has an auto recharge and resume feature that, if the battery fails to charge before it finishes cleaning it, it will automatically make its return to its base to recharge and then resumes where it left off.

The RoboVac 11S performs much better than its predecessor, the eufy RoboVac 30C and is superior to the ILIFE A4s and the bObsweep Bob Pro in our tests. It has a bigger dirt compartment, a longer battery life and can clear more debris from low-pile and high pile carpets to naked floors. It is also simpler to maintain, incurs less cost per year and has a better ability to move around.

This isn't the best robot vacuum for bare floors but it's an excellent choice for homes with medium carpet and pets. It uses random navigation and sensors in its underbelly and bumper to navigate around obstacles. This isn't as sophisticated as the mapping technology used in other robots, but it does the job well enough and gets to nooks and crannies that other robots cannot reach. The Neato Q5 Pro is a multi-purpose robot vacuum that excels on bare floors and clears up a good amount of dirt from both low and high-pile carpet. It feels impressively well-built, has a broad suite of navigation features and is easy to maintain. It has a shorter maximum battery life and has higher regular costs than other models.

The Q5 is among the most slow robots we've tested however, its layout algorithm is reliable and doesn't need any additional attention after its first pass through an area. It begins by tracing out an area, and then fills in the interior using the lines of a series. When the task is completed it is returned to the charging station, if it was away from base.

It did a very respectable job cleaning hardwood floors by sucking up at most 88% of dirt in each test. It had more trouble with carpets with high and low pile however, it still performed better than the standard unit. It also has a mopping attachment to remove wet spills. We didn't test it.

Its maneuverability is superior for a robot with lidar, and it is capable of softly bouncing into furniture and other obstacles. Its navigation system can detect stairs and floors, which allows it to effectively deal with multistory homes.
